Instrumentation

Our Engineers have a very wide instrumentation experience from delicate measurements such as pH, DO etc. to power monitoring on 800kW inverter drives. Our services range from selecting the instrument for a specific application to fully integrating it into complex control and monitoring strategies. We can offer selection design and calibration services besides integrating them within our systems and those by other's. We can also advise on the mechanical design requirements for systems that are critical in this area such as weighing. Instrumentation is becoming very complex now with, for example, flow which had simple impeller and differential pressure flow meters being augmented with coriolis and magnetic types to name two. Even Level sensing has now introduced radar at realistic costs. This is causing the selection process to be much more involved than in the past.

Intrinsic Safety (IS)

We can supply and integrate instruments in Intrinsically Safe applications. Our design capabilities include hazardous area systems. Through completion of external training and examinations, and completion of relevant projects, we have gained vast experience in the design and installation of intrinsically safe and Ex systems.

Our expertise now extends to the design of systems for Zone 1and Zone 2 use, using barriers, remote IO, MTL PLC devices and ATEX directives.

Furthermore, we have written communication modules for data exchange between the MTL8000 range of IO and other PLC makes, and have repeatedly used the modules in many applications.
